Jobbeskrivelse
Junior Consultant - Business Support for IT Integrations (Student)

Build practical experience in IT coordination, data, and stakeholder collaboration while learning how IT solutions and processes enable efficient operations.

Your assistance is needed to facilitate and coordinate the Integration team's activities, and to support our department manager and team leads with a variety of tasks.

You will join a large, professional IT organization with more than 400 IT specialists and generalists.

Start your career with IT Integrations

IT Integrations is a shared services team. We are 14 skilled colleagues and about an equivalent number of external IT consultants working both in-house and offshore.

We develop and maintain IT solutions that are essential for our customers, colleagues on the train, and DSB administration. Our focus is on IT integration — ensuring that different systems can seamlessly communicate and exchange data to support efficient and reliable operations.

“As a student assistant in IT Integrations, I get to combine what I learn through my studies with hands-on experience in a company where IT supports both colleagues and customers every day.

What I appreciate most is the opportunity to take responsibility while always having skilled colleagues around me to learn from. The mix of flexibility, learning and meaningful responsibility makes it a great place to work.”

Says Valerie, our student assistant in IT Integrations.

What will you be doing?

We imagine you will be working approximately 15-20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate your exam periods and academic commitments.

You will collaborate with IT developers, testers, IT architects, project managers and leads from the team, internal customers from our business and train operations units, and external IT suppliers.

A typical day might start with helping to ensure that a new consultant has access to the relevant systems and to practical information.

You may then support a colleague with a procurement process by gathering supplier information, preparing documentation, following up on approvals, and keeping track of deadlines.

On some days, you will update project documentation in Jira (a project-tracking tool) and Confluence (a team workspace), follow up on the team’s budget or engage with relevant stakeholders to collect information for analysis or assessment.

On other days, you will work with data in Excel and Power BI, turning it into clear overviews and dashboards that support the team’s decision-making.

You will also have financial, administrative, and HR related tasks in our ERP system, SAP – and help with a variety of practical and ad hoc tasks as they arise.

Sometimes, you will assist with project management, coordinate with project stakeholders, and help create and visualize plans for colleagues involved in various projects.

In this role, you will not be coding or going into depth with technical IT.

Who are you?

You are currently enrolled in a university degree that combines business administration or management with IT, and you have at least two years remaining in your studies.

You take initiative, ask questions, and enjoy finding new perspectives and practical solutions.

You are comfortable working with different stakeholders and communicating with internal customers and colleagues.

Professional qualifications and traits

  • Studying in an academic program and enrolled at a university or Copenhagen Business School
  • Curious about the connection between IT, processes, and business needs
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, including Excel and Power BI
  • Work experience with SAP (ERP) would be appreciated
  • Well-articulated in English, both verbally and in writing. Danish is helpful for some tasks but not a requirement.

This is not a developer role, and we are not looking for someone with deep technical insight.

What can DSB offer you?

All our students, interns, and recent graduates are invited to join our Young Professionals Network - an internal network, managed by its members and supported by HR.

This is where you meet for socializing, business input, and professional discussions.

You can look forward to

  • Developing your capabilities and skills
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work from home
  • Free transportation with DSB
  • Access to DSB's gym and attractive DSB discounts, including fitness centers
  • Employment according to the collective agreement between DSB and "Akademikerne" Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

At DSB, we have a smoke-free working hours policy as part of our overall efforts to promote health and well-being across the company.
